I've just had cause to strip my SX due to a failed big end.
On stripping it struck me that the electronic kit has been on over 20yrs without fault.
It was a genuine SIL kit sold by SR when the AF ducati kits stopped.
Give it a thorough check and all the wiring, soldering, etc is still spot on and checked the flywheel again spot on -both look brand new (external of flywheel excluded)
They were rewired before been sent out by SR.
I remember buying it and fitting it and just followed the instructions....using positive stop and a simple timing disc - It was th first lambretta I had ever timed from scratch

Things were genuinely better in the old days.......... :D

If it continues like this it will see me out, good old SIL (RIP)

It's hilarious that people still slag off Indian parts

Mind I compared the genuine SIL stator to a so called SIL one I had kicking about (always thought it wasn't genuine even though stamped) and the quality of that compared is shite.... rough casting etc

I've always been a believer in genuine SIL parts but when SR are running out of it, most of that sold as definitely isn't and I've seen that first hand recently....which I would slag off!
