Need help with a tuning kit, how do you tune your scooter, which kit should I choose, and all general tuning and modifcations questions are for in here.

TS1 Frame Clearance

Postby foremanbob » Tue Oct 03, 2017 4:33 pm

Got a TS1, with LTH manifold and packing plate fitted.

Using offset cones.

Engine into frame, and got a gap between manifold and frame.... but only about 1mm

Is this enough?

Li3 with Standard Shock length.

If you've got 1mm when the scooter is on the stand, then I'd say that's fine as the suspension is at is max & that's the nearest that carb will ever get to the frame. Once you compress the suspension the carb will move away from the frame.

Maybe I'm a fanny but I lift the back end so that there is no weight on the rear wheel to simulate unloading the rear as you come off a lip at speed. If I can pull a bit of paper out then that's enough for me.

Try a shorter shock, like a R1. Loads more clearance.

A bit of fetling to the manifold with a Dremmel will improve your clearances.

first ride on her... apparently 1mm is enough... not frame contact with manifold (well no paint missing...)

You would notice a significant increase in vibration if it was touching
