I'm going to run my newly purchased TS1 with a 30mm dellorto, and JL3 pipe. Anyone got some carb settings I can start with? Also info on the ring/bore clearance ( bane of my life atm lol) would be appreciated.

Morning mate I run the same set up had it set up on diablos dyno 55 idle av266 x13 2nd clip from top 135 main with a ramair filter 350 fuel jet . Runs cool on my egt about 440 degrees in mid range but fine on main jet . Do some plug chops to sure I have a nice dark choc brown at 1/4, 1/2 ,3/4 , and flat out. Hope this helps . col

im similar 55 idle , av268 attomiser x7 needle 2nd clip down 136 main 70 choke and a 350 needle valve , runs sweet all through the rev range with no 4 stroking . as above though check your plug .

With the carb manifold on the right where are pipes routing their cables, over or under the manifold?

Couple of more things, wheres best to run the fuel pipe,is it under the frame near the bump stop, and is there a shorter choke cable available ? Ta

I make a shorter choke cable for TS1. £5 delivered. I accept PayPal, but will need your address.

What colour do you need?

Recommend a piston to bore clearance of 0.05mm.
There should be a letter stamped onto the cylinder indicating the piston grade required to achieve this clearance..
The new ring gap should be around 0.28 - 0.29mm for a 70mm piston.
Consider fitting a new set of rings after 500 miles as the first set on a new cylinder gets some hammer as they strip the nickel deposit off the bore.
Don't be tempted to over-tighten the head nuts, as it will cause the cylinder to twist when hot resulting in an expensive seizure.

Its a tight squeeze with everything on the right hand side. What are people using as far as carb filters go? Ive got an MB foam disc, which doesnt seem to go flat against the side panel, and a filter elbow which doesnt alow the panel on at all ?

You could cut a hole in the panel to fit a filter thru,or as many xo run it open mouth.

Cut a hole in the panel to fit a filter thru or as many do run without a filter.

I believe LTH do a left hand manifold...

Just got it all together so dont want to start taking it apart.......yet :D I remember reading somewhere the fuel line has to be below the float bowl on Dellys,is this right? If I can move the banjo to the upright position it will help a lot. This will mean everything is below the bottom of the fuel tank btw.

I know... but it's still cheaper than a new tank and repairing the existing cut out in your side panel...!

Had some teething troubles getting it going.Noticed a black coating on the sides of the reed manifold coming away ,cant say I noticed it when assembling it.Also just like in the recent article in Scootering about barrel studs,I have the wear marks just where the studs are in the cylinder.Ive only started, tried to start,it a few times,is this part of the bedding in or signs of disaster ahead. The wear has removed the honing marks,as well as a few more marks in the cylinder.I checked the ring gap and its 0.33 mm and the piston gap is about 0.01 mm.

The ring gap is fine but the piston bore clearance is far too tight. I suspect it may have been a bitch to put together?
Don't run it anymore.
Looks like you have the wrong piston grade for that cylinder assuming your measurements are accurate.
There should be a letter stamped on the barrel indicating the piston grade required. Ideally, (Though not comprehensively) the same letter should appear on the piston crown.

What have you got? ;)

Im going mad  Re checked piston gap 0.13 mm approx, feeler gauge down side of piston in the barrel.Earlier post shouldve been 0.1mm now 0.13mm. The piston is a B grade. I rang AF before I assembled it and they said about a thou clearance for the piston. Which is 0.0254 mm?

Here are pics of the barrel and also of the reed block showing the black coating which seems to be coming off. Can I use a deglazing tool to clean up the barrel ? I have read not to but have seen it done.
