gp paint code

I understand there was an earlier 'silvery' finish used until the Italian GP cross over period (metal to plastic grills, petrol flap, etc), after which a later 'flat' finish was used.
Paint codes often quoted include 'Fiat 690' and RAL 8081 or Argento per Carter/Metallic Silver. There are also a few posts in the GP Anoraks Corner regarding the best powdercoat silver colours.
