Has anybody any experience of repairing the SCM dampers from a TVS3 ? Thanks.

If you mean the steel shroud at the top then yes. Carefully remove the spot welds with a dremel and obtain some 25mm steel tubing from B&Q or the like and very carefully tack weld the new section into place and flat back. The bushes can be replaced using reinforced rubber tube using the original steel inserts.

I dont have any pictures unfortunately but did this on a pair of Tv1 front shocks and once painted looked as good as new. Subsequently found some n.o.s ones but would have been happy to have fitted the repaired ones. As long as a little care is taken removing the old steel shroud and you have someone skillful with a m.i.g welder able to carefully tack the new ones in place.
