Float jet

Postby jonno » Sat Jun 20, 2015 8:37 pm

Would too big a float jet cause any problems setting up a carb. Got lumpy power to about 3/4 throttle ,but it feels hard, struggling to accelerate.Got a 300 in a 30 mm dellorto (is this standard cant remember) on a mugello 225 with jl3 pipe. Its fitted with an lth reed valve and i only increased the main jet and had to fit a sweet breath filter last time Ifitted this carb.I did replace it with a 26 mm dellorto but that couldnt cope too well.

300 float valve should be fine and not cause anysetting up problems. In fact it's a necessity really (200 being factory standard).

The holed piston was an air leak as had been running for a couple of years all well and good.It took off like a rocket, i knocked it off ,but too late. The clip is second from bottom so on the richer side.

Be worth a try to have it on the second top with the half shim.

Ive taken out the main jet to check the atomiser needle, which should be ok as its what I've used before.See what you think.Runs up to 3/4 throttle then four strokes above that which is the info I took from some carb set up info I have
