Steering wobble TV 175 series 3

Can anybody out there advise on the following problem. I have a '65 TV175 Series 3. At about 20/25mph when you have laid off the throttle, a wheel wobble kicks in, which if not held, would turn into a real "tank slapper"!!.... You can lose it if you accelerate out of it, and at higher speeds, there is no wobbling. I have changed the Rims and Tyre, as well as checked the headset for tightness and that is lined up true. The Wheel looks to run true on the Disc, and there does not seem to be any slack / knock on the Forks.Equally, through full turning either way, there is no binding. I am not sure if the Scoot has been in a front end bash before i got it....am i looking at bent forks, or is there any other possible issue that could cause this problem. Any advice would be welcomed.

You can suffer this if the 2 halves of the front hub are not sufficiently tight together. Tighten up the nut that sits hub side of the fork link, then do up the outer link dome nuts again too. Take for a test ride (carefully!).

If you are running with puncture tyre gunk this can collect in one spot and throw the balance of the wheel off, if not check frame measurement between head stock and glove box, I'm not sure what this should be but someone on here will know.

A long shot, but after a recent front hub problem I was advised to strip all paint and powder coat off the face of the hub (around the studs) where the wheel sits. The finishes can compress and loosen off the torque on the wheel nuts.
Are your links aligned? If one is higher than the other for some reason you may get the affect

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. i have now gone back to the original rims, even though the new ones looked ok when I checked them firstly. Seems like this was the problem, as after testing, my "wobble" has disappeared!!...A mate of mine emailed to tell me that some imported rims have been "suspect" in the past...so lesson learnt!!
