Body panels

Postby Parky00717 » Tue Aug 11, 2015 11:20 am

Hello all,

I'm new to the lambretta so please forgive my noddy questions (there will probably be many more to
Come!)
I'm just starting a restoration of a Spanish jet 200 and I have started from just a frame tube.
I have been doing as much research as I can before starting anything, can anyone tell me are the body panels interchangeable between series 3 models?
I have found a few bits to start with but its the frame loop that I'm really struggling to find.

Many thanks in advance

Broadly, the Jet is based on the LI special / SX so most S3 parts should fit.

Things like legshields you need to get the right ones for your frame chrome ring or non etc. Spanish panels are a little wider at the top to fit round a slightly wider tank.

Sticky's book should help.

Thanks Ross,

From what I've read so far it is chrome ring but I will keep researching.

It's mainly the frame loop I'm wondering about as finding one is like rocking horse sh1t so if they are mainly the same then at least if I do manage to find one then there is more chance of it being compatible.

Thanks for your help

There will be differences in the loop between that and an Italian one, depending on the age. But, they're only really cosmetic and won't be seen when the seat is down.

Starting from just a frame tube. its going to be very expensive and would probably cost you much more than you would ever get back if you came to sell you would probably be better buying a complete restoration project but if you must then get a dating certificate on the frame numbers if early eibar then its chrome ring with sx/li's type side panels (wider on the top edge) with the sx type head set with a li light switch. if later same as except li side panels and non chrome ring basically
