Just bought a '86 lynx which has better electricals and braking that my current s3, so have whipped off my casa185 and plan to place this, carb etc onto the lynx and use for next weeks euro. This is the first time I have had the head off and it apart since it was built 8 years ago! That said I haven't used it much and put approx 3000 miles on it in that time..no scores and everything came apart came of fine..i am thinking a decoke (stickys guide says paint stripper so that's what I am doing overnight)..and then bolt it all on, set timing and away you go..anyone see anything scary in the pictures or the plan?

That looks fine. Clean up the head and the crown, but leave the sides of the piston as they are. Check the rings in the bore (ensuring they seal against the wall as much as the piston-ring gap) and rebuild with good sealants.
It looks a bit over-jetted at the moment, but I guess you had spotted that.
Enjoy the ride to Germany. Martin

I have two Casa 185 kits,in your position I would de-coke the cylinder head and piston top, also check exhaust port and de-coke if needed, put new rings on and run it.
