Could anyone tell me where I might Be able to find one? Also, is the tapered (conical) pin going to make any real difference in a standard engine regarding vibes etc?
Thanks.

I only found 1 off these in the past stuck in a std piston, you shouldn't beable to get gudgeons seperate as the piston/pin are matched.

I'd never heard of this before so I googled it.....
So.. apparently a tapered gudgeon pin is machined on the inside to reduce weight. To be honest I think that this is something you would do to a heavier pin from a four stroke engine, if you wanted a lightweight pin for a two stroke/ Lambretta I would fit the correct sized pin from a lightweight performance piston such as wiseco for example as they are pretty thin & ...... lightweight. Personally I don't think it would make any noticeable difference to a standard engine if the pin was all you were changing...
Cheers Mark.

Thanks for the replies. Main reason I was after one is because that's what's fitted now. It's a Borgo 66.6 piston, just assumed that type of pin was original to it? Bought the sx barrel and piston s/h. Just fitting new rings etc prior to building engine.
Cheers.

Funnily enough whilst out in the garage tonight I spotted a tapered pin in an old prox piston for a yz250, can't say I'd ever spotted it before....
