Hi, just ordered a new iwis 83 link chain as I think mine is past its best & just wondered if any one has used either one of the green lth type or the black jockeys boxenstop pull down tensioners with a 19x47 sprocket combo to successfully take up the slack, I know the gt tensioner will do the job but l would prefer to use either one of these, thanks for any info

Hi mate
Don't know if it would be a contender for you but have you considered the casa x44 chain guide/tensioner. It looks considerably more substantial than the other types of pull down/push up guides & reasonably priced(about £35) might be worth a look..... I personally use a g.t. type, been in a few years now, no issues.
Cheers Mark.

Casa one looks the part as said
I use the black jockeys one and it takes up the slack using 18/46 no problem

+1 for the Casa Performance type. They've been upgraded recently with a harder wearing plastic runner with tubular steel inserts and the casing fixing screws are no longer captive so they can be replaced. IMHO it's the best of the lot, but I would say that

There are plenty of Indian copies of the LTH one on Evil bay. Pays your money, takes your chances.
