On a second thought,
it could become the ultimate guide of how to not rebuild a Lambretta engine.

I wouldn't let him near my washining machine - could be seen as the alternative to Sticky's book! Check out 15 never seen anyone fill a gearbox that way in 45 years of engineering! That's where I have been going wrong!

I've just watched 2 and 3 and I'm not sure I can take any more :? The fitting of the selector spring and balls was hilarious  (start of episode 2) I mean I know it isn't the easiest of jobs but it was quite excruciating to watch  Have to admire his dogged persistence though, most mechanics of lesser ability would have tried different methods such as put it in a carrier bag to catch the balls or use a large hose clip so you have something to lever against

Love the use of the lump hammer to fit the endplate bearing....nice touch ;)

If you go to part 5,he uses the same lump hammer and a peice of wood to fit the crank

Leave the poor guy alone.
He's a Chelsea supporter, so he is obviously using Russian methods.
(But I bet Roman A. would not let him within a mile of his boat engine).

Well I've now watched 5, 6, 7 and seen him hammering the crank in with his 'workers revolution' hammer which also had a part in fitting the mag housing. BUT did anyone else notice that he just squirted a little oil into the mag side bearing, no grease  But the best so far was his advice re fitting the stator.....if it's new you should check out the manual to find out how to set it up but if you are using the original one or a 2nd hand one you can either line it up with the marks someone else has made OR you can just tighten it up where you can see the bolt heads had been before :? His logic is that it was running before so it must be alright

The really worrying thing is that it brings up an advert for Sausage's excellent engine build DVD on the same page. Some poor pillock is going to choose the Bluesmoke one over buying Sausages :(

My adverts don't show that. The adverts are usually linked to what you have been doing on the internet - dependant on cookie settings. Obviously some are paid adverts that appear on every page. At least that's what I tell the missus when the advert for bored housewives keeps coming on.

OK well I've made it to part 9 and I'm only sticking with this to see if the thing even runs - and for how long.. My personal favourite part so far is this - 'Please don't hold the clutch assembly with a screwdriver, buy the proper tool'.
I don't think I've seen a single 'proper' Lambretta specific tool used so far..

This should be the best advert to go out and buy the sausage DVD and sticky bible to see how it should be done.

Sods Law says that I bet his will run while I battle on trying to get mine to even start properly.

I don't want to be judgemental, I don't know him and while I will strip and rebuild my own Lambrettas, I'm far from a skilled mechanic, but even if he was fitting everything properly, there's nothing to be gained because most the time you can't see anything or what he's doing.

His shed/garage is an OCD sufferers nightmare. How the hell does he find anything!?!?!? :o

I'm finding it quite inspirational. At least I'm not the worst bodge-artist in the world.

I just had to comment on video 5, in video 10 he admits he has no clue wtf he is doing which is nice... would have been better if he kept repeating that throughout each and every video though.
