Registration

Bought 2 scooters this year, the first one back in May and another a few weeks ago.

Totally unaware of the whole process I thought I would rebuild them one at a time then worry about registration later. So it was news to me that I should have notified DVLA within 14 days that I had imported a vehicle!

It states that failure to register a newly imported vehicle within this time will make you liable to a £5 a day fine!

Anyone know if this will be imposed if I try to register?

Thanks.

I wouldn't worry too much I think that is more geared towards imported vehicles to use straight on the roads in the UK , Have they both got NOVA's though as that may be more important

They do not have NOVA documents. I bought one from Austria and I have the registration papers. The other was from a uk dealer which has no paperwork whatsoever!

Just to add to Toddy's good advice, I would advise getting your dating letters from myself first and then apply for your NOVA, just so that you can get your NOVA exactly the same as what I put on the dating letter as DVLA will reject it if it differs.

Thanks Richard,

OK I will get some pics of the frame N0s and fill in the form online first.

If I fill in the NOVA form online will I still need the dating letters or are you advising that I fill in a printed form + include the dating certificate then post?

No mate, what I am saying is get your dating letter first. You do not need to send it to HMRC however you need to get the info' off it exactly for your NOVA or it will be rejected by DVLA. You can do it online if you wish.
