Some shops are still putting up items without warnings as with the Lambretta early Li type front hub with a thin fillet . Ebay item # 222874855860 A messages have been sent to the seller ,but no reply .

Unfortunately theres an awful lot of “chancers” or wide boys selling Lambretta stuff on eBay, not to be confused with bona-fide dealers just be careful.

This is an early series 1 front hub,if he sold it as what it is I dont see a problem,after all there may be someone with an early series 1 who wants to build one totally original.

There is no problem IF the seller puts a warning on the item to say that it is for a show scooter , not advisable for a road going machine . The shop/dealer has had more than one note sent to him/her to put such a warning on the hub , but has not responded in any way
All veteran Lambretta owners , and responsible dealers, know of the problem with these hubs , and the fact that Lambretta altered them to make them safer on the late S2 , AND S3 models ,so put a warning on these hubs that they are for show scooters only in their opinion .

There are a few unfortunates on this site who have had a mishap by the fillet snapping, and fortunately lived to tell the tale .A friend of mine still has the scars , and remembers his stay in hospital as a result of his crash when it snapped and the front locked up .

the fact is that the seller failed to respond to contact both from myself and myjiffey, highlighting the issue....

that tells me (and the fact it is ridiculously overpriced) that he is not interested in anyone's safety, just his own greed ...

god help anyone that fits this to a road going scooter .... and I should know, the scars are mine... and if it wasn't for the fact mine gave way on a quiet country road, I may well have not been here today.... buyer beware

He is also selling used Ramp rear hubs, this guy obviously has no concerns for people's safety and no conscience.

Looks a professional set up as well, just goes to show you.

Looks to me like a typical modern dealer. They probably know very little about scooters at all, and are even less bothered by old parts. Typical it's old, it's Lambretta, so it must be worth something attitude.

I have been sent a link from a friend with comments relating to our ebay shop and some genuine Lambretta used parts we had up for sale. viewtopic.php?f=10&t=9912

I would be obliged if I was able to respond and/or have the post removed. Now that this has been brought to my attention I have removed both items that were up for sale. I just wish the user ‘myjiffey’ & ‘lambrettadave’ had contacted my company by telephone or email with regards to these parts if they felt they were so dangerous. We’re getting inundated with messages and the person that looks after the ebay shop is not an experienced scooterist so sometimes questions are overlooked.

Anyway I hope you can comment on our behalf and/or remove the post from your site.
