Ive only used genuine OMG and Scootopia

OMG gives you bottom or back outlet - never had an issue with either
Scootopia bottom outlet smaller body and original look - had a problem with the rubber washer distorting but been okay since they replaced it

OMG from AF Rayspeed, comes with a new petrol arm that you don’t need but can then sell on. And then get a metal front piece for it from Lambretta upgrades as the standard plastic ones tend to break.

Scootopia are the most original looking in comparison with what would have been fitted in 1963, but you should dismantle them to ensure that they have been assembled correctly.

The one I bought was fine, whilst a mate's needed the rubber membrane taking out & reassembling. (I've always done that whatever the make TBH!) They flow as fast as OMG & are so compact that they are universal in their application. ;)

If you have trouble fitting a tap and find the silent block interferes with it the Scootopia tap is a way around it. It sits higher up and gives you that little bit more clearance.

Plus they have a reserve that is an equal flow to the normal flow(most dont)and they are switched on as normal, but with a reasuring "click".

Hah! Don't talk about reserve. You don't get a lot, so be aware.

Yep - I've extended 3 scootopia pipes to increase the reserve as they are on TS1s

But you have to alter the reserve pipe on OMG fast flow taps because there to long.

1/3rd of a litre reserve on the Scootopia tap on a standard tank so be careful. Likewise the reserve is far to great on the OMG fast flow but piece of piss to shorten, or in the case of the Scootopia add a short length of tube to the brass pipe.

I bought a Scootopia tap last week and after fitting it I noticed that the fuel still flowed when the tap was switched off. Also, the fuel flow when the tap was open was dismal. It turned out that the rubber seal did not line up with the holes in the tap. Also, the thread in either the tap or nut was wonky so it hit the engine mount when it was tightened up. However, once sorted out it seems to work well and much better than the OMG tap which doesn’t seem to fit with wide engine mounts. Also, before you fit the tap try and blow through it and it should not be possible in the closed position. If you can blow then the rubber seal is probably not in the correct place.

From my personal perspective I've never bothered reducing an OMG, riding fast motorway mileage on TS1s, which aren't particularly great on fuel, Id rather have an enlarged reserve than reduced... Modifying the scootopia is essential as can be seen by the comments.

Unfortunately there are a few comments about the Scootopia assembly and components.

For future I'd be likely to go OMG again.

I got a Scootopia tap, out of the box the fuel flow was dismal - after I'd added 4l of fuel it took more than half an hour to empty the tank. On dismantling the tap the rubber was well out of line and blocking the holes. That sorted, it was flowing half a litre in about 50s.

On later reason to disconnect the fuel pipe I found that even on off the fuel flowed, again I had to drain the tank, dismantle the tap and this time I found the centre hole of the three in the rubber had distorted and the rubber lip had split. Paring the lip of that hole with a blade and reassembling it seems to have fixed it but my confidence in these taps is low.

I've never had trouble with a Scootopia fast flow tap.Reading all the trouble that people have had-I think I must be lucky, all I've had to do is extend the reserve and thats all.

I think there are some fakes around.
I had one where the rubber gasket swelled up and distorted really badly and very quickly once subjected to petrol. (probably a fleabay purchase  )
I made a new gasket from Nitrile rubber sheet, cleared the drillings out, then it worked fine.

Mine came from a dealer in Scootopia packaging - no reason to believe it was a fake.

I got one and when i dissasembled it to make sure the rubber gasket was ok, the circlip turned out to be bent and fell off. Tested it on a spare tank and flow seemed ok, i do like the positive click for the tap positions.

I've ripped it out again as it's still leaking in the off position
