I have had my scoot back from engine fit and rebuild a couple of months and only ridden it a couple of times maybe 3 miles and started and let it run a couple of times also....just went to start it and it is seized!
What can I do to fix it?

You did put oil in the petrol I hope? Otherwise you need to have a quiet word with your builder buddy.

Yes they even gave me the rest of the 2 stroke oil ....+£

Have you tried removing the plug and trying to turn the engine over by rotating the flywheel by hand? Try pulling the clutch in too, as this should eliminate any lock-up in the drive train.

This is only the start of the diagnostic process, but what I am trying to do is to help you ensure that the piston is seized in the barrel, and not some problem elsewhere, as a problem elsewhere might be easier to solve.

Contacted the builder Harry Barlow who collected it the next day gave her the once over and then delivered it back the day after,all sorted now but it may well have been leaving petrol on continually didn’t help. Cannot praise Harry enough , after sales service nothing short of excellent.

i understand this phenomenon with fuel injectors but how does it happen with a carburettor?

Had a situation like this a couple years ago with one of mine.......Arrived at the meet ok and turned off the engine (like you do). Come to start her up to go home to find the kickstart was solid. WTF Turned out that the crappy Rolon chain had stretched that much, that when kick started, the chain bundled up and jammed between the clutch sprocket and lower chain guide giving the impression of a locked motor.
Luckily, to get home, I was able to free it off by simply dragging it in reverse to free it up.
Rolon chains suck.

It's a reason.......Not convinced its a good one, considering just how knackered this chain was!
