Lucky to have done that, I would have loved to have seen it all and them Baj's that are still 2nd hand sought for as a wedding gift for the groom

From what I understand from a poorly written Indian over there, Baj and LML did a deal, Baj would stop making scooters and LML would stop making bikes, Baj would make parts for LML including panels and precision parts and concentrate on its motorbike, new car market and the old three wheelers, Bajaj supply not only LML but also Piaggio now with precision parts as they are inherently cheaper than what Piaggio could produce the same quality for and of course Bajaj own the CDI monopoly pretty much, many a modern ride now has a Bajaj owned company made CDI in there, its not done bad for a company that came into being to service British army contracts for engineering and when LML went bust, Bajaj did a Herbert Austin with them and gave them financial help at no cost to get LML back up and running (Herbert Austin did this for BMW when BMW went bust by sending over at cost CKD Austin 7's that BMW rebadged and retrimmed as their own and he charged them nothing and was done as a gesture of good will... shame it wasn't remembered when Rover went bust and BMW threw it to the dogs eh?).
Before I die, I really want to fly to India, to drive the Standard Herald and the other Indian cars and to run the gauntlet in Calcutta or Delhi on the back of a Lambretta, one can wish
