Going to fit sip Speedo in new build. Apart from actual Speedo what else do I need. Seems to be lots of different leads and add ons. Thanks

All the connectors are explained in the fitting manual with the CHT lead only heading down to the cylinder head.
Optional extras you can buy are 3 types of speedo speed sensor’s ( Magnet Setup,Electronic box & now GPS)
Also u can now get an EGT setup which stops using the CHT part
CHT- Cylinder Head Temperature
EGT - Exhaust Gas Temperature

I have the latest v2 Running dc which helps stop the low rev flickering, it also has backlight brightness control which is a lot better than the non adjustable V1. I run the electronic box for my speedo as it gives better clearance inside the headset and also takes away the need for undoing the speedo outer knurled nut all the time. I run the EGT instead of the CHT which is now a Trailtec version.
I’d get one of Antony Tambs intelligence converter that will give u a stable electric pulse and stop the flickering rev counter.If ur using a standard speedo cable then make sure ur using the proper inner( can’t remember of the top of my head which one is preferred) If ur running a standard engine then I wouldn’t bother with the CHT but if ur running and high spec engine then it would be beneficial too fit it or go one step further and fit the EGT.

Mr Tams now recommends if your using the SIP fuel sensor do not use his DC supply.
The SIP used ground as a reference point for the fuel sensor. As I found out the hard way..

Unless you are young or still lucky enough to retain 20/20 vision, then you probably isn't going to be able to read the pathetically small temp display anyway. So it won't matter if its CHT or EGT

I was going to make the same point, its a shame that SIP didnt put a bit more thought into it. It would be much more usable of you could fully configure the displays, I'd have the dial reading speed rather than revs and the you the large digital display reading temp. The fuel warning is nigh on useless too as it just flashes the odometer display to alternate with the word FUEL. Literally, blink and you will miss it.

I’ve got a Vespa 90 SIP fitted to the leg shield tool box on my S2.
Using a EGT, fuel and rev counter only. The reading is a good size

I think the Vespa ones use the same display, maybe you have reasonably good eyesight? I need glasses for reading so really struggle with small digital displays

So probably better fitting a separate unit for temperature. I could fit one in legshield tool box. Trail tech or similar ?. Will be running rb 20 so would be beneficial
