SIP speedo USB socket

Plugged a Sip USB socket into wiring loom of sip speedo between speedo and black regulator black as per instructions, using usb socket to charge phone , things don’t seem right , phone flash’s on off slowly as if power is going to it , phone pulsating vibrates during power input , I almost think it’s draining the power from the phone rather than charging
