Will a series 3 toolbox cover fit on a series 2 frame?

I bought a later type series 3 one to fit to my series 1 while my original one was being repaired, I had to cut a little bit off the door hinge either side to make it fit, apart from that, it fitted ok

perhaps he means what is more commonly known as the toolbox door?

rather than the 'frame loop' ?????

Rich I was wondering that. I like many are not sure what's meant by "cover" though. I do get frustrated when questions are asked and help is offered with a question to clarify things but that question is never replied to or if advice solves the problem then a post script saying this thing fixed it may help others with similar problems
