What a job that was! Just fitted a 13 litre tank purchased to suit my Series 2 twisted rocked wiggled you name it I did it I could only leave the bottom rubbers in until it was home, I then managed to force the rear set in but even that was a task!
I tucked the straps round and again struggled with the strap rubbers a the front the rear 1’s were easy. So at the moment everything is tightened all rubbers in apart from the front strap rubbers.
Any thoughts appreciated.
Cheers Shane.

Put a little washing up liquid on the rubber then gently prise the strap away from the tank with a big screwdriver and squeeze the rubber under it with another screwdriver

Might help if you put them in bowl of boing water too - softening then may make the job easier

Thanks for the comments, I’d masked the internals up after fitting the tank as I’m rusting her up!
There was just enough room to too the straps round between the tank and tool box hopefully with everything tightened up and left for a while and using the advice given so far the might be able to be installed.
Cheers Shane.
