Under Panel Battery Tray, bolt to strut

Postby 69GP225 » Tue Apr 07, 2020 12:21 am

Does anyone know where I can buy the stainless steel battery tray that bolts to the rear strut?
Anyone fitted one?

Looking to buy one so I can fit a battery for a rev counter... thanks

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lambretta-ST ... Swvg9XaRGQ I fitted one on a series 2.They dont make one for a series 2,so I had to drill another hole and put a different rear piece of steel on the back.

More expensive but maybe safer. I speak from experience after my stainless steel one came loose (my fault). New hub required.

If you are using a gel battery, like the ones used in burglar alarms, then you get a much greater choice of shape and size and you can mount them at any angle (except inverted).

You might find something that can be hidden away in an existing toolbox. Yuasa are good, and have a pdf file available with all the dimensions quoted.

Just a thought.

Get a lithium ion battery. Light as a feather and maintenance free. You can mount them wherever you want 360 degrees and just a cable tie will hold in place
