RT 195 - tips?

Postby Covboy » Thu Apr 22, 2021 8:49 pm

So I've bitten the bullet and moved away from my tried and trusted GT kits ( i've built 3 x 186 and a 240 and love them) to the RT 195, just for a change....
Its going in my silver special , engine has a "pace maker" gearbox, 16 /46 ( final drive 5.3) but with a 60 /116 crank ( for this crank I had to get a different piston and head needed modifying by MB - top tip - read all the info...!!!! ). It's going to have a 25mm phbl and run through the de-restircted airbox.
Exhaust is a BGM V4.
Static electronic ignition, @ 18 deg.
Looking forward to building it & trying it out...
So my question is - any tips / advice / info ?
What would be the baseline jetting?

I have an RT195 in my TV
Here’s my setup

Casatronic ignition
Standard GP crank
PHBL 25, GP airbox with swan neck removed, BGM mesh filter
I have a MB flange type manifold which gives good alignment with the airbox, so recommended
BGMV4 exhaust
Stock Li150 gearing, so 5:2 or thereabouts

It’s a great ride, won’t set the world on fire performance wise but it’s a pleasure to ride

My jetting
AQ264
D22 T4
MJ 97
Pilot 50
Choke 70
Float valve 200

I want to take it to Al @ Diablo and get the jetting fine tuned. Sometime this year maybe....

Rt 200 reedvalve carb
25 delly
110 main
70 choke
40 slide
58 idle set 2 turns out
D22needle 3rd clip
AQ 266 Atomiser
300 float jet
As stated mines reed valve so you could come down on the idle say 50/52 and also main jet too suit
Sx200 gearing 15/46 4.8fd
Bgm v4 zorst
I’d change rings after being run in or 1000 miles, seems excessive too do that early but I find rings wear very quickly after the initial bedding in. Certainly not the most powerful kit out there but does the job while sipping fuel on a 25 delly ;)

Rt195 non reed
60x110
30mm delly
Clubman (V3&V4)
Pacemaker box 17x46 giving a final drive around 4.95
I’m more a fuller figured gentleman and it pulls my fat arse around.
