TV 175 series 3 RS Type.

TV175 series 3 rebuild taking a little inspiration from my Audi RS4.

Strip down!

This TV had an RB engine, six plate clutch with packing plate etc etc. Also a hydraulic outboard brake. All of which were sold.

The intention of returning the engine back to somewhere near standard for simple reliability and a standard front disc brake too.

Very nice G! That is my favourite colour for a TV175 series 3.

My TV is already painted. I did post some stuff on it before the forum crash. I'll start the thread from the beginning again and share pics of the process!

But it has an S Type- ish theme to it Toddy with some similarities to the DL 125 on the other thread!

The previous owner had kept some of the original parts from before the RB engine build. These were included in the sale as I wanted to reuse them! This includes the barrel, head, crank, gearbox ect.

Bare engine casing needed cleaning. I just used WD 40 and wire wool on it.

Started with the new bearings seals and fitting the gearbox.

















Managed to find a NOS disc brake too!

I had to find a set of chrome ring legshields to fit and a nice man from Paris helped me out.



Then I started a dry build.







The frame also needed the battery tray replacing!



And off it went for paint after everything was blasted!

Agreed mr G, but I have used a few non standard parts too! Good quality ones though.

Soooo, I picked up some of the paintwork and began to build it.

Turned my attention to the top end!

Original nos Borgo piston



Nos head.



Correct inlet manifold for standard carb



Bit of black paint to tart the barrel up after rebore.







Carb stripped cleaned and rebuilt

Smiths rev counter drive cable routing through the stand crossmember.



Rimini Lambretta conversion to the sidecasing! Spot on!





Checking clearance of the clubman exhaust.



And the rear footboard.



Fitted a new BGM rear shock with a matching red spring.

Next, the problem of where to mount the Smiths rev counter.

I wanted it as close to the headset as possible, allowing the straightest simplest route for the cable. So this is the position I wanted it, but with nothing to mount it to I had to design a bracket!

Careful cos this is where it gets boring for some people who will remain nameless!



Made a cardboard template.







And a nice man called Jon Betts ( JB fabrication) made me this steel laser cut bracket!



Checked the fit an I'm well happy.







Just needs painting satin black!
