I've sent you a message and can email you a DXF file to have one (or several) laser cut. They're cheap to make, ~$8 depending on material/thickness/quantity. I made several to mount small New York license plates to.

Hi.
I used the uni mag house and I had to elongate the holes in both cowls to get them to fit. I checked everything before paint so all the holes are painted!!

I dry fitted the carb, a Mikuni TM24, today. I just touches the cowling because of this issue with the Uni maghousing. I am going to have to do the same as you too

I’ve had it years, Gaz. A lad got some S Type copies made. They were plastic coated. This particular one was dead cheap as the holes were drilled in the wrong place, since rectified.

As it seems more than a bit slow on the forum at the moment, I thought I’d just give an update on where I am with this.

Well, it runs although I haven’t had it on the road yet as the cowlings have gone for paint. I was going to use the cowlings in powder coated white but the white badly clashed with the other internals being painted “new white.” I also had the extra hole in the cylinder cowling welded up (see previous issue with poorly machined Uni mag flange).

I strobed it today and did have to move the stator plate. Of the three Vape static ignitions I have set up, this is the first that I have had to adjust post strobing.

As is usual, I have had a few gremlins on the way - short circuits, flooding carb, fettling two headlight rims before deciding on the Casa one and an incorrectly positioned kick start lever.

The biggest hassle has been fitting the side panels - 3 sets of rubbers and three different panel springs. All three panel springs have been “altered” by me in some way to get a better fit. The panels actually fitted okay from day one, it’s just that the panel handles weren’t exactly level and I was getting a bit OCD about it.

Pending getting the cowlings back, I’ll check it selects all 4 gears okay.

The last SX's were arguably the most sorted of the SIII's with touches that were engineered to apply to the GP, & probably the rarest of the type. An expert might confirm as to where they may have been assembled, though Spain may have come into play.

Sorry if you think I'm picky, but safety is paramount. The hub bearing nuts need to be shorter if the nyloc portion is to function. I can't recall where mine were obtained, but they are readily available, though if you struggle, let me know.....

you should be able to source some st/steel ones with the blue nyloc that are of a std length from any stockist

I should have the cowlings back in a few weeks. I can then start running it in. You’ll see that the Mikuni TM24 has been replaced by a PHBL25. I am going to try the Mikuni on another scooter later in the year. The spare wheel holder is the Spanish set up.

Original SX150 barrel, bored to 175cc with a stage 3 Chiselspeed tune. Tutto Lambretta SX cloverleaf exhaust. The one without the mushroom.
