Barn find to the euro lambretta in 3 weeks….

Postby Nobby » Sun Jun 09, 2024 1:54 pm

Latest project-
Another ’barn find’… well garage find… you know what I mean… this one was last used in 1979 but was ‘found’ by a guy who went round to do some electrical work in a guys house/garage… he bought said scooter for £350 !!… and sold it on straight away … i bought it from a guy in Salisbury who had again stored it but had left it untouched…

When I bought it it came with this intriguing bit of paper with this photo of 2 guys sitting on it in the 1970s in Oxford !!

(I love a bit of history with my scooters so I wrote to the address on the bit of paper not Really expecting a reply (I didn’t even know if the guy was still alive!) but to my surprise he did get back to me with his history and the original 70s photos…

But what is weird is that it has an original Scottish reg and dealer waterside… how the feck did it get from Kirkcaldy to Oxford in the mid 70s??!

Brilliant. Amateur film making at its best, it could even win John Craven's young film maker of the year competition.

Highlights for me were, in no particular order: headset falling off and replaced in a casual, lambretta-rider style; nobody being at home; inevitable HV belt when checking for a spark; checking if 50 year old tyres were still there; and surviving the 13 bends of death, in both directions!

I think maybe I need to pull my finger out and get my s2 on the road as it's been 3 years now, not 3 weeks!

You've also inspired me to do a euro which I've never done before......if I ever finish it.

Looking forward to episode 2

Me n my wife used to have ‘come dine with me ‘ nights with friends and when it was my turn because i wasn’t a great cook i would take my time and leave it really late till people ate… that way they were just really hungry and happy to eat anything so it was always well received wether it was good or not!… my YouTube channel is abit like that too… :D

No only joking!….?… there has been 5-6 hours of stuff to edit down and add to… its been emotional!… hoping to get pt2 out for the weekend… then pt 3 very soon after (a week?) …
