Scootopia Float & Plunger Kit

Postby hullygully » Thu Dec 05, 2024 12:16 pm

has anyone had any problems with the above?
we bought the above kit (came with black tipped plunger  ) & tried to fit into a SH1/20 Delly carb, no success.
the plunger kept sticking so used an original red tipped plunger, success, but, when fitted back on scoot it spewed out fuel within 5 secs
stripped again, placed float in cup of water & it floated.
compared dimensions of new black scootopia float to an original 5gr float. original is slightly smaller in height, scootopia pivot position is slightly higher :o
put original red tipped plunger with original float & hey presto, no leak from the over flow. 8-)

Yep had similar problems with the scootopia kit, tried chopping over a few different needles and float bowls ( scootopia and OEM) no joy- bloody thing kept sticking and leaking  in the end I tried a red tipped needle and a clear plastic float bowl from a Jettex carb which ( fingers crossed) has done the trick. What a bloody faff! Paul :x

^... watch out for possible fuel starvation as some of the red-tipped aftermarket needles are a fraction longer than the originals.
