Well, I managed to do it again !. Switched off the scooter and as I was getting off, I caught the ignition key with my knee and snapped it clean off (the key - not my knee…lol !). I was about 10 miles from home (Liverpool) but I managed to get the lights on so I could ride home. I’ve done this before and had difficulty obtaining a replacement key because Casa use an unusual blank. I went to North West Keys this time in Liverpool. They’re wholesalers to the locksmith industry as well as having a public counter. I figured that they would have the correct blank, or could get one for me. I was right. They had the correct blanks, so I asked them to cut me two keys. The cost was £12. That’s very reasonable. My broken key had no name on it but was stamped ‘H34’. I think Jem Booth can supply keys for Casa ignition switches if the number begins with ‘H’. The key I got from North West Keys is branded. ‘JMA’ and has the number AF-8I stamped on it. It looks like the letter. ‘I’ rather than a number. ‘1’. Obviously, that’s the part number for the blank and not the key number. There are other threads on here about Casa ignition switch keys but they’re years old now and this up to date information. North West Keys also do mail order. I now carry a spare key hidden on the scooter, the challenge is just to get the old one out. In my case, that wasn’t too difficult. I hope this helps someone out.

How did you get the snapped key out.
Mine snapped off too but luckily in on position inc lights but it’s a pain stalling it all the time…..
Happened before and just changed ignition switch.

As virtually all of the key was in the ignition, I got a very small screwdriver (almost like a needle) and managed to turn the ignition off. I was then able to get the same screwdriver under the ‘teeth’ of the key and pull it out a bit. Needle nosed pliers to pull it out the rest of the way.

Thanks. I’ll give it a go and get some spare keys cut if successful.
