Hi - I am stripping a 1968 Italian SX150 for restoration and the long screws that secure the headlight rim to the headset bottom have sheared.
I wish to retain the original headset therefore will need to remove the broken screws from the lugs and repair the threads.
Does anybody know the correct helicoil size & pitch ?
Is it M3 x 0.5?

Hi Cowboy
I had the threads on my headset strip and tapped the holes out to 3.5 mm using a tap from B&Q sold for tapping out electrical switch boxes . Then used chromed switch box screws looks like original.
Could be an option as not much metal for helicoil!

Ok job done - I centre punched the snapped screw, drilled it out using a new sharp 2mm drill and retapped it using 3mm tap!
