AF 5speed shimming

Af 5speed box Shimming.

Is the 1,2 shim to small to fit under end plate as Af say in their blurb 1,4 is the minimum and 2mm is the max, the 1,2 is a good fit with clearance on the feeler gauge, the 1,4 is to tight, if a 1,2 is to small what is the consequences ?, i'm trying to understand the reasoning i have the bearing shims to move the gear stack out towards the hub, also i have the cambridge 0.5 shim for the end plate but the 1.2 is a good fit without all the faffing about.

All comments from you more knowledgeable people would be appreciated.

Did you go with the 1.2 ? If so how’s it going, I’ve never gone under the recommended 1.4

Ended up putting a shim under hub bearing 0.2 from Torbay lambretta and ended up with a 1.5 main shim, done about 130 miles without issue so far.
