Nice DIY work.

Linked to this theme, has anyone fitted the BGM box to an existing/known system? If so, what effect did it have on your performance and jetting requirement?

I made one too, went on a 225 reed valve mugello with bgm clubman...the roar it made was impossible to ride, generating from the airbox,a remote system cured it,and an important lesson what the internal swan neck of the box was designed for.

Like Adam I would like to see a direct comparison between BGM air box and the standard - snail or no snail. There MUST be some flow figure comparison's in the development of this product otherwise it’s hearsay.

Interestingly,I had a Gori cast 175 in for some work and couldn't get any colour on the plug even with a 150 main fitted in a SH22/2.Went through everything until I happened to notice the swan neck was missing in the airbox.Fitted a standard one and finally got it sorted ready for a rally that weekend.I've removed the neck in the past on a few motors but they were using PHBL25's which have more adjustability to suit.

I have a 'project' in hand to utilise the envelope of space provided beneath panels with toolbox, tank & battery in place to create a plenum/airbox capable of delivering an adequate filtered air supply fed via the standard frame air scoop hole. The base motor for tests will be circa 25+ BHP with efficient carburation up to 34 mm. It needs to be serviceable & suit standard OEM size, larger &/or downdraft carburation.

I wonder if Warkton Tornado No.1 ever went forward with this ?

Not for the moment, though the project is still very much in mind.

Some may recall that I also intimated that I had a solution in mind for the issue of mis-positioned machine holes - predominantly within the Indian produced crankcases - for which work is still in hand. This particular Post may not be the most suitable for it, but I believe an explanation may be long overdue….

It was my intention to consider the feasibility of applying a patent for the brake pivot solution & I endeavoured to discuss that with the only person that I am aware of - within the field of producing Lambretta ‘enhancing’ products - but I still await any response to my initial request….

Regardless to there now being a solution on the market, with my son’s encouragement & help in the production of 3D printed prototype models, I am confident that my own idea is clearly valid - as proven, it would appear, by the launch of the aforementioned product already for sale - so will forge ahead. Whether the application of eccentrics - with shims - is a better solution than that I intend will inevitably come down to customer choice ;)

Just for info my current ride ( winter model ) uses an Italian GP airbox with the swan neck removed and a 20mm hole in the side as per Knowledges article in jet set , the air scoop has the baffle removed and I’m using a BGM filter and bellows on an SH2/22 delly carb , carb is set up as per GP 200 but with the main jet increased to 125 , runs lovely , plug is biscuit brown colour , all this on a Casa 185 with 42mm clubman
