selling up...

Postby WXboy64 » Tue Jan 20, 2015 4:56 pm

looking for some guidance here...'64 scooterboy, whose been back into scooters since 2004...got a '64 TV175 and a '65 TV200, neither is show condition, but both registered in my name with short MOT - quite a lot of spare parts, some bling, mags etc and a refurbished M48 parka. I want to get rid of everything in one go, how best to go about this??

Bits 'n' bobs is very much subjective and usually best sold via eBay unless they are very sought after scooter accessories of course.

The 2 scooters *might* sell as a job lot, but you'll get more usually by splitting them up.

good luck with the sale!

Not wishing to influence you but aside from a couple of girls who got away, my biggest regrets are cars & scoots I shouldn't have sold. But What bling are selling please?

As others have said your best bet would be to sell separately. I know of at least a couple of parts fair dealers that would buy the lot, well maybe not the parka :-) but you won't get anywhere near what they are worth. If you know the price you want for the scooters then why not try advertising on facebook before you go down the ebay route. Also same with the spares. Are they good spares because original innocenti stuff sells ok but possibly worth selling as job lot. Need more info really to give a better reply

I have regrets about selling scoots in the past and that's why I now have a "collection".
The thing is I don't know what to do with them as my daughters and spouses are not likely to want them when I'm gone.
How on earth do you part with any of them when there is even a slight chance you can still ride them?
So perhaps moving them on whilst you can still blow your own nose is a good plan.
However I reckon I would still be miserable if I sold one.

Sorry for the hijacked post.

For a quick sale I would ask a reputable dealer what they would pay for them. A TV bought from a "reputable" dealer would have a higher asking price than a private sale (in theory), so a dealer may be prepared to buy them (for a reasonable sum) and use their name to enhance the price. Its a starting point if nothing else.

sorry lads, no rare bling rack/spare wheel on each, f/screen on GT some loose crashbars and stainless leg shield beading, both of which I was afraid to fit!...and whats wrong with an M48 parka....about as old as me, ah and similarly frayed around the edges....

Nowt wrong with the Parka, although most of us on here are everyday riders so we don't wear them.

You'll get best prices I am sad to say by advertising the Parka and accessories with a really good description and plenty of photos on eBay.

The scooters -how much do you want for the pair/each -a good description and photos on here will at the very least get you a good idea of what they are worth, and an honest one at that.

Agreed. You might get a good price for the Parka, they're still sought after.

Nice scoots , stick them on eBay and let the market roll.

IMO you should get between 3-4k for the 175 and more for the 200.

Those both look in very nice condition. Agree with Tim (timexit17), sell seperately not as a job lot. Stab in the dark without seeing it in the flesh as such but that 200 is £6K plus all day long..
