SIP Digital Speedo speed sensor/ Rev counter (Wassel)

Just looking into whether anybody has successfully installed the electronic speed sensor to the SIP speedo?
I'm assuming I have to order the sensor and magnet pick up, but there are various lengths available and would appreciate anybody else's feedback regarding the length to order and which magnet will work best. Is the speed accurate or is it just a useless gimmick?

I've got the 1.35 metre active sensor (SIP part no. KOBF640J02). It's a little long, but it's the shortest one they offer, and you just hide a bit of excess cable in the horncast.

Since it's an active sensor, you don't actually need a magnet. It picks up the wheel nuts or studs as they pass. You then enter the number of nuts/studs per revolution into the speedo settings.

However, on my setup (ScootRS antidive disc), I couldn't find a location for the sensor where it would be alongside the wheel nuts, so I ended up sticking a magnet on the wheel anyway.

BTW, you'll also need the sensor bracket, normally the M8 version (KOBI002S08N). The magnet I used is a 12mm x 3mm neodymium magnet from Ebay, Araldited in place.

After reading/ trawling through all them pages on Scoterotica, I'm a bit confused regarding where to pick up the AC supply on a Wassel DC system, are most people using the unregulated yellow cables from the stator to feed the tacho? Could that not be detrimental to the electronics of the speedo?
Can it be fed from the ignition wire (green wire to the coil from ignition switch), since this is the ignition pulse, in theory.
I haven't done my Wassel set up yet, never got round to it, it's part of this winter's stripdown.
I think a bit more research is needed before I start chucking this thing in!

I take my feed from one of the yellow stator wires on a DC converted stator. There was a really good (but for me, complicated) explanation as to why this needed to be done. I guess it got lost when the forum went down, Sorry to be no help at all really other than to say I did this as opposed to taking a feed from the loom. Mine works a treat. Oh & it needed a resistor spark plug.

That seems to be the norm on the Wassel from what I've been reading.

Long and short if you try to take it on the regulated side of the wassel there's not enough voltage variation to read the pulses.
