There doesn't seem to be much choice out there for these. What are the general opinions on the best series 2 front carrier?

I`ve fitted the Allstyles type, at least, I think it came from there! Holds quite a bit & I think it looks good - it is chrome, not stainless, so you do have to clean it.

had a cuppini style one for about ten years always been great, dunno how much they are these days but back then I only paid £40
