Nobby wrote:The dvla don't except ' i ' on any docs ,their computer system won't let it be used... Ever! , so it's always written as 1..... Always. Nor will it except a star shape
I had this last year trying to reg an li125, my frame number was li125*123456 ( for instance) on the nova,
but dvla computer writes it as l1125123456 ( obviously not right!!)
So I had to send it all off with a very long and written in very plain baby language explaination of where it's going tits up, with a number to 'phone me if you need more info', it went thru ok... With the frame number l1125133456! -they said be ok legally and that is the only way they can do it!

The VIN/Serial no. is wrong on both. Shows L1 instead of LI.
Just sent an email to The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (replaced VOSA), asking for advice on how to get both documents corrected.
Will update if I get a reply.

On the mot certificate there's a place for the model number on the left hand side, that always comes back correct. It seems its just the box for the vin number were it wont allow the letter " I ".I have an LI150 that was registered in 1988 and on both the mot certificate and the log book,in the box for the vin number it has the six numbers only, but leaves off the model number ie LI150.
