Suggestions for Digital Speedos for Series 2 that fits......

Postby Donnie » Tue Feb 10, 2015 7:44 pm

.... in the actual headset.

So, leading on from the Acewell speedo thread here viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2480 I thought it's worth exploring if there are others out there that will fit?

So, by that I mean one that doesnt involve cutting the headset etc like a vapor one would.

Additionally I want one that is fully digital, ie not like the sip ones that still need a cable for the actual speed.

Anyone know of any (other than the acewell) that can be used?

Its the size and how much you can cut off the rear to clear the pulleys. Speedhut have a good range of GPS ones in several diameters though the smaller ones dont have trip miles travelled etc.

No they will not work on an AC system

I fitted an Acewell to my series 2 by putting a 3/8 inch spacer between headset and speedo, didn't need to cut it and everything fits under headset

You can waterproof the Speedhut one with clear silicone , I done mine, years ago and it's still going strong, wipe any excess whilst still wet with silicone cleaning wipes. You need to get it in around the edge of the glass where it meets the bezel .
Also , you'd never know and can't see the silicone .

hmmm I do like that speedwell one i have to admit as i like the fact it looks like an analogue one, even though its the most expensive of the 3.

Im thinking though the fact that both the acewell and the koso both have other functions and dont need extra waterproofing might edge it to the number 3 spot currently.
