It's rated in amperage not watts, something in the region of 5 or 6 amps will be fine as sold by the likes of Halfords and other accessory shops. If buying on line, do a google search for Vehicle Wiring Products.

watts divided by volts gives amps. So if you've a 120watt stator and want to use it to its full potential you'll need at least 10 amp for the main power feed from it. If you're just extending a cable to a 36 watt light, obviously 3 amp will do

And 1.5mm square cable will carry 10A all day long, so use 1.5mm as a starting point, no smaller.
A lot of cable for automotive is sold in AWG, here's a website with convertors from AWG to mm squared etc

I've done a fair few 12v conversions and the wire I've used for most of them has been 32/0.2 tinned copper wire.
The number 32 means there are 32 strands of copper wire and the 0.2 means each strand is 0.2mm thick, it will easily carry the current and voltage produced by a standard 12v Lambretta stator.
The tinned copper wire is more resistant to corrosion than plain copper wire and though experience I found that it will outlast standard copper wire and is well worth using IMO.

if you think you need a heavier multi strand wire to cope with greater power then you could use 30/0.25 but I think that really is overkill.

Vehicle wiring products or Maplins should be able to supply what you need.

I definitely see your point with tinned wire, good point.
I've just used some standard stranded stuff to extend my stator wiring, around 1.5mm square csa, not too sure the exact size, but it wasn't tinned.
