Rear hub savable?

My back brake has been grabbing for a while now. So, with an MOT looming I thought I'd better take the hub off and take a look.
It's obvious that somehow the hub has gone out of true with shiny bits and untouched areas.
Is it possible to have the braking surface skimmed by an engineer or do I need to buy a new one? As you can see from the photo it is an original innocenti hub.
If I need a new one which is the best one to go for?

I suppose it's possible, but you've got to weigh up the costs of a new hub (£60 ?) against the cost and hassle of getting the old hub skimmed.

saying that it would be nice to have a hub that you know is 100% round.

Skimming would reduce the thickness of the steel which I doubt was thick in the first place.

Fit a new drum and fresh shoes for the best performance, literally good as new.

The remade SIL ones sold by Scooter Restorations are good and I've heard positive reports about the new Scootopia ones

I've purchased a scootopia one. Same casting as a Spanish and at a good price £65. Weighing up the cost you would be very lucky to pickup a Spanish hub for this kind of money. Definetly the best I've seen for a longtime.

It might be worth having a look at your brake shoes first because your hub may be ok.
