Various elec/connection questions

Just puzzling the wiring out on my TV 175 Ser3.
New loom in place and I think all connected to the right colours in the bulb holder (not 100% sure..).
New ign switch colours are 'different' to the original, but I think they are ok too.

There are a few questions

1
Where dose the long wire in the loom run to that has an eyelet (6mm dia) and points to the brake light switch go to?
I cant see an obvious location

Following Stickys book I've added the additional earth wires for the speedo bulb. Does this connect to the earth side of the festoon bulb?

Engine earth.
Nice new one. Eyelet to the rear screw on the mag cooling cover, where do the others go?
I have one 6mm eyelet and one 6mm 'C' cut out eyelet which obviously is meant to go under a bolt.

The ign switch has a pink wire with a 6mm 'C' eyelet.
I presume this is another earth and goes under the headstock 6mm bolts (one of the 3 used)

I will bell through as much of the circuit as I can but could do with connecting all these ends first.

1 Not sure what you mean by 'points to the brake light switch' what colour is it? Could be for the battery feed ?

2 Can do but you could also connect it to the bolt you connect the pink in 4 to.

3 usually one to the mag cover watch for paint otherwise it's earting through the threads of the bolt. Then on to the back of the strut held by the nut that holds on the regulator, then to the earth side of the coil, if using the old style.

4 yes usually to one of the bolts that hold the gear rod.

As to no 1

It is in the loom and on the frame it is a single orange wire, sheathed in grey PVC and flows towards the head stock upright.
It won't reach the brake switch, but has a 6mm eyelet so must go under a 6mm bolt but can't find one close!

I've found a diagram of the bulb block on this site, so will double check the wires to colours.

I'm still little further forward with the TV's wiring.

Pic shows the wire/eyelet that must belong somewhere! Hope you can help me.

suffered from Indian Quality on the ign switch as two bullets pulled off in my fingers, so soldered all the bullets on...
The ign switch has a few different colours compared to the wire diagram in Stickys book and every time I see a picture of a lamp block on the web the wires are different to mine.

I've paired the colours along the lower run of female connectors, the others seem to have a number of homes depending on the picture I see.
Pity the diagrams are not illustrated like the components.

I think that's for positive side of the battery.

Is it a DC loom?

The TV is an Italian original, so no battery, but has an unused battery bracket.
The loom is a new Scooter Rest part, every thing else is ok on the loom. I guess I can cut it off and insulate it or insulate and coil it up and loose it between the tank/airbox.
The loom tallies with the other connections, lights, switch etc.
Wish the same could be said of the Ign switch...

It would reach a battery easy if it had one, so I think you are right, +ve feed to the battery.
Not ever having had the battery it never came to mind.

Graham,

There is such a thing as original innocenti models WITH batteries. The fact yours has a tray means it was made with one intended to be used. Probably for the market it was built for. IE, export. Your machine has a battery tray so should also have a battery. That's what the wire you mentioned is for.

But to clarify, just because it has a battery tray doesn't mean its not italian.

This has made me think and explore....

By some miracle I have found the old loom stripped-out 15 years ago when I took the scooter completely apart and boxed things away inc stripping by hand all the paint and grunge off the bare frame.(so loosing any evidence of a battery).
I expect the original battery was removed for shipping.
The oldloom has this wire on it with the rubber cap (terminal cover), thus this TV DID indeed have a battery! (as my UK TV did in '67).

Glad I haven't cut the wire off now.

Bad news is I need a battery.

I think I have all the wires in the bulb holder in the right place now and a tail light with a reliable earth, so 3 steps forward today.
