Hi Everybody,
I've just done a 12v electronic ignition update on my series 2 Li. When I tighten the flywheel nut as much as possible I still find that there is a little bit of rotation of the flywheel (about 1mm) before the crank starts to turn. Is this normal? Is my woodruff key liable to sheer? The flywheel sounds quite noisy. Any thoughts greatly appreciated. Cheers Alex.

No, it's not normal. And it won't run right, if it does run it will sheer the key and/or damage other stuff.
Is it possible that you have a gp flywheel and li crank?

Well I bought an "Li" electronic ignition kit, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they sent a GP flywheel by mistake. Is there a simple way to distinguish between the GP and Li? Thanks.

Hi Mate
Not having seen the Flywheel - check the movement is actually on the shaft/ key. I had a similar situation and it was caused by the centre boss being loose on rivets. Scooter ran by with a noise from flywheel.
Just a thought. Jono
