Postby bluebob » Tue Mar 10, 2015 11:32 pm

the brake light on my s2 was playing up so when I had a look at the switch I found that a sil pedal is fitted which barely catches on the plunger in the switch.Has anyone had this problem.dont know wether to change the pedal for an original or try to modify it .any tips please

I bought a secondhand series 2 brake pedal for mine and same as you it didn't line up with the plunger so had to do a bodge with a tie wrap to get it to work for the MOT , not sure if its the pedal at fault or the switch , be interested to see if anyone else has the same problem ?

I had a similar problem Indian S2 frame, Italian pedal, SIL switch.
I ended up building up the part of the pedal that hits the switch plunger with weld so it worked as it should then filed it up so it looked right.
I also welded a splash a splash plate on it.
I might be wrong but I think the only difference is the position of the stop and bit I altered. But haven't put the two together

Both pedals are original Innocenti,
you can see the difference,

S3 Top (shorter rest point)
S2 Bottom (longer rest point)
