Technical help for Series one, two and three Lambrettas. Models include the Li, Li Special, TV, SX, GP, Serveta and API/SIL models

I have taken the 24mm PWK carb off my TV series 3 which has a 200cc engine and was hoping to replace it with a 22mmJetex/Dellorto. However after fitting a 200/22mm manifold I find the carb is obstructed by the silent block and the only way it will fit is if it sits at a very severe angle. Has anyone else had a similar problem and does anyone know any way of overcoming the problem? The carb would need to be moved about 6mm to the left in order to fit upright. I am wondering if all manifolds are exactly the same or does someone make one which will be a fraction longer in order to push the carb a bit away from the silent block. If I cannot come up with a solution what implications would there be if the carb did sit at an angle, would it make any difference to performance? I would appreciate any help or advice as this is beginning to drive me mad. Thanks

Sounds like you have a remade manifold so elongating the back/small stud hole will allow the manifold to twist towards the front of the scooter although the bore won't match the cylinder then, you may have to shave a bit of the manifold flange to allow it to turn. Either that or buy another manifold.

They're not that expensive, get a genuine SIL one from Scooter Restorations.
