stand dimensions

Postby dickie » Thu Mar 26, 2015 9:48 pm

I've just fitted my stand to a complete restoration I'm doing and the front wheel is about 100mm off the ground.

I think I have 2 problems. Firstly that the stand is too long and secondly that the stand is too vertical.

Could someone do me a favour and measure the height from the bottom of the horizontal part of the stand to the ground.

I had the same problem and the wise folks on here advised me to check the angle of the stops, mine appeared to be correct according to Sticky's book so to solve the problem I shifted them around a bit to let the stand stop at a better angle.

Thanks mac, I'm pretty sure that's part of my problem too, but i also think that my stand is too long.

My TV3 stand is 260 mm long along the leg inc new rubber feet; just put the TV on the ground and both wheels touch the floor with very little load on the stand.

Thanks graeme, mine is 285mm without the feet
I was pretty certain that it was too long and you've confirmed it. I'll shorten it then see where I am.

I'm also moderately confident that the angle is too close to 90degrees. Baby steps.

Does sound like one of the remade viet ones to me, seen a few of them. Not stainless too is it as that would fit with the too long ones?

Yes it's stainless and doesn't have holes for the pins.

Doesn't clear my ancillotti silencer.

I reckon it's viet; got it from tsr.

Wish I'd bought an mb full kit.

Corrados stands are good. Probably also far eastern but fit.

Regards wheel off the floor, IMO you do want it off a bit, but not 100mm
