Headset rub on SX200

Headset rubbing on Horncover, have tried adjusting height if head but this just seems to make it worse, any ideas?

Stick a couple of floor rubbers between the legshield lugs and frame
This should give you enough clearance

Pretty sure that won't work as all it does is move the legshields back and could result in a step at the rear of the headset. The only way I've found is to file the steps off the back of the hornstem where the top screws fit then take a mm or two off the inside of the stem where the badge fits. This allows the stem to go back a touch, seems to be a problem on SX style headsets so whether it's down to thick paint I'm not sure which is why I always relieve the headset area before painting.

Thanks Wack I will take another look at the weekend, your right defo seems to be a problem on SX headsets as I've see a number with a similar problem

Undo the headset clamp and raise it.

Ok have had the headset up and down more times than I have had beers so far this weekend and it's done nothing

The headset actually seems to be lopsided, it seems to be bent both forward and also seems to be sitting lopsided (when I turn the head the gap between the bottom of the head and the frame is wider on one side than other, any ideas would be greatly welcomed?

Most likely the clamp is bent, seen it before. In a crash the alloy is more likely to break so doubt the headset is at fault and if the forks were damaged they would probably rub or go tight but check the clamping area looks straight without the headset fitted.
