Picking up from standing

Postby lammydave » Wed May 13, 2015 7:04 pm

If my scooter needs lots of revs and a bit of clutch slipping to pull away smoothly, what carb settings should I be looking at changing?

It's an RT195 with a 30mm PHBH

Possibly too rich mixture at the pilot circuit. Smaller pilot jet might make a difference.

How about in other gears when you're off and running? If it is carb and not gearings, which it could be, I'm guessing you're giving it a load of throttle to slip the clutch in which case it could be slide, needle main jet or all three. I had a similar issue, which changing clip position cured to some extent, but permanent fix came from a leaner slide.

off and running, it's fine... if I'm sitting on the front of the seat, the acceleration pushes me to the back..... 8-)

so i'll kick off with the pilot and see what happens...

spending all day tomorrow on a service as I'm taking it to France in 6 weeks.... :)

and thanks, guys!

what is your carb' jetting ? be sure to check the plug if you drop the pilot jet (could run too lean).
