Is it possible to mix and match 1st-2nd and 3rd gear on Spanish LI 150 special boxes with early Italian ones, if this can be done it frees up a lot of old LI 150S boxes.
Looking at stickys book other than 3rd gear width the boxes are the same upto 3rd
I'm assuming that that the use of early pacemaker boxes on tuned engines being frowned upon it that 3rd gear was weak.

Nope, my early (weak) LI150S Xmas tree will not mesh correctly with the 3rd loose gear from a later gearbox (Italian or Spanish), which is a shame as my weak gearbox has a different box's loose gear (I think from one of the LI boxes). This swap does not result in the same close ratio of the LI150S box. I expect my 3rd gear was swapped out, before I picked it up, to replace a broken weak 3rd or in the hope of avoiding breakage.
Nope, this is not a straight swap early for late opportunity.
