New Kit ordered, small block Casa SS200 kit

Postby lambrettalad » Thu Jan 29, 2015 12:44 am

So after thinking about which kit to go for for I have decided on the Casa SS200 kit.

I was going for the GT186 but for a tenner more this kit is alloy rather than cast and looks to be well finished, I also considered the RB kits, Imola and Mugellos.

I bought the kit from JB and he rates it and had some input so it will be interesting to see how it performs.

Recommended carb and pipe for my use which is mainly rally's and a bit of town riding is 30mm Dellorto and Franspeed Super Tourer although I am going to try a few different pipes out on the dyno and see how they do.

To begin with all I am going to do is match the casings, fit it, set it up and try the different pipes all with the help of Sash at Lowestoft Lambretta Works and his dyno.

Below is a few pics of the kit from JB's facebook page I will post up a few of my own next week

Nice looking bit of kit, nice to see a recessed cylinder head.
Does the carb mount the same side as standard or TS1?

Carb mounts on TS1 side.

Yes its looks great in the pics, I haven't had chance to see it in the flesh yet as I am away from home but when I get back I will take some pics of my own and post them up here.

Another bridged exhaust, seem to be coming the norm.

Any update on this, interested to know how this kit performs compared to the GT186 and Mugello 200?

Is this kit supplied with an alternative centre plug head ?

I only ask because your cylinder has provision for Eight fastenings, but the off set plug "cylinder head" supplied only allows for Seven of the Eight fastening points to be used.

I believe the carb manifold can be mounted on the right or the left

Any news on this kit? Anyone else running one? If I decide to upgrade my Casa 185 this could be the way to go IF it's any good.

A bit worrying that he never posted an update on this, and I've not heard of anyone else running them. Seeing as there are plenty of decent tried and tested small block kits on the market I can't think of any reason to choose this kit :?

Im not sure if there have been any other instances, but I know of two people who have had the plating come off, which is a shame.
