Hi Eden, it was nice to see you again on Saturday! Thanks for posting your great bit of film for us all to see, especially the sprint. All of us at 100mph.com worked hard on the day to make sure everything went ahead without a hitch.....we even cancelled our planned lunch break! Over 50 riders took part some having numerous runs up the slightly uphill strip, it has to be said that many machines were very well turned out and very fast as well, a credit to their owners. As for your own performance, well I reckon 71mph for an old school tuned cast barrel scoot was pretty damn good especially as I could only manage 64mph on Eric Cope's stupendously fast GP! (I know it's pathetic isn't it)! In my defence I only had one run on it and it's been a long time since I rode a fast Lambretta. My god is it fast!!!
As well as the lads there were also a few ladies who took part, that was great to see. And a number of BSSO riders came along for the day with their fantastic race Lambretta's, I loved Steve Coneely's new scoot, so much work has gone into that machine.
Unfortunately I was unable to have a long chat to Stuart Day about his attempt at the speed records and didn't get the chance to see the frame which was on show somewhere on the site, perhaps we will see it again later in the year.
All in all, I thought it was a fantastic day, it's just a shame that we will have to wait at least another year before we can do it again!

Frank.

Cheers Frank, it was indeed good to sprint again after so long away :)

one thing though... the motor in my Winter wasn't my old cast 240, that's sitting on the bench waiting for me to put a crank in it. The motor was one of my GT kits home tuned very much like my cast 240. The GT is still a cast iron barrel though, it just has a reed and boyson feeds.
I was interested to see how the tune would work on the GT kit which is why I did it last November aiming for the same port timing as my cast 240.
More than happy with the result considering the frame it was in and that it wasn't set up for the sprint. I think I may have been bitten again by the sprint bug ;)
