Has anyone tried this oil for longish trips eg 300 miles in a day at 60mph ish?
I can't get SIP to let me know the 'spec' of the oil. eg The Rock oil I'm currently using is ISO-L-EGD, TC, AP1, JASO C.
The Rock oil has not caused any issues ref lubricating the crank etc BUT the rings become jammed in their grooves causing low compression after only a few thousand miles. The piston is a Rev tour from MBD.
cheers Paul

SIP are not good communicators. I asked them what thread size their speedo temp sensor was and over a week later they sent me a message saying it was not metric and to try their forum.

I've had the same problem with the bottom ring sticking in the groove when using MB pistons. I use putoline oil.
Scooter always ran fine but like you say, after a short time, the bottom ring would be stuck.
Changed piston to an AF one and not had that problem since.
Doubtful the oil is the issue.

I have also had problems with the bottom ring peg gumming up with MB pistons in the past. Don't use them any more.
I have been using SIP oil in TS1, RB and Dragster engines for the past 5 or 6 years without issue. I used to use my Dragster to commute from Chelmsford to London 4 days a week.
I road back from St Bees to Chelmsford after the C2C with my mate both on TS1s and both using SIP oil. 350 miles. Left at 8am got home at 3.30pm.

Thanks to everyone for their replies. Sip oil is value for money and seems to be able to cope with power outputs that are higher than mine.
If I'm wrong about the oil causing the ring sticking then next time I strip down the top end I might look to widening the ring groove a bit.
cheers
