Postby johnnyjarvis » Sun Jun 08, 2014 9:08 pm

Looking for a sprint rack which fits on top of the spare wheel behind the seat.
Think that someone on here had started making them ,the post wasnt that long before the site crashed.

I had to mod mine by grinding the bolts out and fitting longer ones as the sip rims
Are thicker

My home made one before I got the brackets permanently welded.

Not sure with the rack in question but for the basic spare wheel carrier that sits below the sprint rack the following should work.
You need to use 4 of the 30mm long Indian cylinder head nuts, screw them on to the studs on your rack and screw 8mm crankcase studs into them. If you're carrying a split rim spare just bolt it on as normal and keep the long nuts with studs in your toolbox and use them if you have to remove your SIP rim.

I had to cut off the old studs and have new, longer ones welded on for it to take my tubeless rims as a spare.

Keith does make them, unfortunately I've just bought the last one but I'd imagine he'll be making more

Their is a guy local to us in West Cumbria that has made a few in stainless, on request. I have one and the quality/finish/fit is really good.

I can see if he willing to make up a batch and I can sell them through the LCGB Club Shop? (It will be Sept before I progress this, as no spare time at the moment).

An update on this, not sure if I'll get these produced any cheaper than another LCGB member who has advertised on the forum that he's getting a number made up:
